Pretty much if something sounds/looks good to me at the time I will investigate or over-analyse it for as long as I can be bothered, and this is all just a log of that. Not entirely sure why, but I've always been motivated by statistics, records, chronicles, the name on the spacies game at the local chip shop, name in the wet cement, something to be looked back on.

Basically however I can leave my mark in an anti-obvious why. So people will find it without too much fuss (perhaps with ease), but not until a wee bit later. By that time it may have less significance, and have less influence over any future events. But at least I can save it here in the old thought shed. Mental storage depot. That way I don't have to keep thinking about it, and can go on to the next thought worry free. Because I want to remember it, but the next thought may change things alot more, or be be slightly more sensational to the wider audience. But I was not really going for them... it was just for a future me (sans De Lorean ?) and those that will search just a little further. Dig just a little longer, curiosity driven, can work out the context from connecting the specifics, and vice versa.
If you think this is total bull$hi+ then fair enough, each is entitled to their own opinion, free speech yada yada, don't agree but defend your right to be a prick, yada yada. I'm not the thought police nark, but this is my wee bit of cyberspace not yours thank you very much so take your loverly opinion write it on your own blog or whatever and we'll all be fine!

Maybe I do have a vague, over complicated notion of the earth and existence in general. I dwell on the past/present and future, procrastinate how I want and just how I like. Muck about with the random things that most others forgot about or never noticed. Talk about something more than actually accomplish it.
I speculate on the unknowable and postulate on the unthinkable.
I can guess the future.
Rewrite the past.
Believe what I want and as I see fit. At least I admit it.
Then write an psudo-essay on it, with bad grammar, mispellings, made up words, poor paragraphs, lack of cohesive structure, narrative, conclusion, and/or purpose.
And loving every moment? Well at least partially enjoying if not hoping that this will come in handy at a later stage. Not caring too much though if it doesn't. It was never here.
So what if I live a dream, partially delusion resulting from thinking about so many different worldwide media/political/everyday events that you can only really focus on your own life anyway. So you will always have bias, entrenched racism, fear, xenophobia, contempt for the poor and weak, disregard for other inhabitants of the planet we won't meet, blind hatred, blaming natural disasters or unavoidable problems on an easy/marginalised scapegoat. Or are these just reasons or excuses that help to justify/maintain the status quo (infighting, nationalism, warmongering, elitist domination, arms races) and make sure that a worldwide unification or consciousness never develops? We're all citizens of the world, it just depends how far outside your turf you can see.

See there is no target market for a rant like that!
So if you read it your my key demographic!

I heard about this study from the Colbert Report and then found the story online. It was published in NewScientist. So then I just had to reproduce it here for your interest. It's weird that scientist's study stuff that you talk about when your wasted, I thought that was more for those studying Arts...

Parallel universes really do exist, according to a mathematical discovery by Oxford scientists described by one expert as "one of the most important developments in the history of science".

The parallel universe theory, first proposed in 1950 by the US physicist Hugh Everett, helps explain mysteries of quantum mechanics that have baffled scientists for decades, it is claimed.

In Everett's "many worlds" universe, every time a new physical possibility is explored, the universe splits. Given a number of possible alternative outcomes, each one is played out - in its own universe.

A motorist who has a near miss, for instance, might feel relieved at his lucky escape. But in a parallel universe, another version of the same driver will have been killed. Yet another universe will see the motorist recover after treatment in hospital. The number of alternative scenarios is endless.

It is a bizarre idea which has been dismissed as fanciful by many experts. But the new research from Oxford shows that it offers a mathematical answer to quantum conundrums that cannot be dismissed lightly - and suggests that Dr Everett, who was a Phd student at Princeton University when he came up with the theory, was on the right track.

Commenting in New Scientist magazine, Dr Andy Albrecht, a physicist at the University of California at Davis, said: "This work will go down as one of the most important developments in the history of science."

According to quantum mechanics, nothing at the subatomic scale can really be said to exist until it is observed. Until then, particles occupy nebulous "superposition" states, in which they can have simultaneous "up" and "down" spins, or appear to be in different places at the same time.

Observation appears to "nail down" a particular state of reality, in the same way as a spinning coin can only be said to be in a "heads" or "tails" state once it is caught.

According to quantum mechanics, unobserved particles are described by "wave functions" representing a set of multiple "probable" states. When an observer makes a measurement, the particle then settles down into one of these multiple options.

The Oxford team, led by Dr David Deutsch, showed mathematically that the bush-like branching structure created by the universe splitting into parallel versions of itself can explain the probabilistic nature of quantum outcomes.

"In the old days the public vented their spleen on rogues by pelting them with rotten eggs and squashed tomatoes. The stocks were a prominent part of life -the threat of their humiliation hung over village life. In our more modern - I hesitate to say civilised - age, these rituals haven't vanished with the wooden contraptions that enacted them: they've gone online. The new electronic free-for-all better known as the internet and in particular the blogosphere has become a modern-day stocks. Its anonymity has created a 21st century arena for hurling abuse; the virtual equivalent of soggy vegetables.

Online there are no limits (last week a report dubbed the net a Wild West of crime) . It seems anything goes. Web contributors seem to have little compunction about letting it all hang out. It used to be talk radio was where nutters congregated to have their say - but there they ran the risk of the talk-show host putting them down with a scathing remark, or in extremis pulling the plug. On the net there are precious few moderators.

We all know that sitting at a computer it is easy to get carried away, to feel that because you are in a virtual medium everything you do or write is somehow separate from the real world; all those respectable judges, actors and policemen out there who have been subsequently prosecuted for downloading child porn know all about that. But from the really sick offenders to the city folk forwarding emails about their exes which end up all over the world, or to our own perhaps over emotional outpouring in an email, it is easy to be lulled into a false sense of omnipotence: the sense that your actions have no consequences. A one keen blogging friend put it to me: "Do you Know why I love blogging? Because no paper would ever print what I can get away with online."

Everyone has the odd ungenerous thought or bitchy aside but generally we keep these thoughts to ourselves. Blogs contain the remarks nobody dares say at the dinner party for fear of censure. Forget Jerry Springer and trashy daytime television, when our fingers hit the keyboard we seem to lose all sense of decency or propriety. We thought we'd moved on from pelting people with rotten eggs."

How can you fight against an abstract concept?

Apparently: We've already had one 9-11 we son't need another, but who's got the right answers to make the world safer, not just make certain militant groups less stronger. You're still going to have thosae under lying issues (e.g recent US foreign policy, support of Israel in Palestine, historical interpretations of past events, etc..) are going to make certain disenfranchised people commit horrific acts. Because just like hawks in the pentagon/whitehouse they believe their ends justify their means. Because they see authority abusing its power, or societies turning their backs on communities and other horrendous stuff that would make you start to hate and project that hate toward the enemy/other side. The different. The bastatdos.

In hindsight historically certain wars seem necessary and other don't. Really none of them are entirely necessary at all, but inevitable. Due to situations arising from conflicts of interest, lack of resources, (overpopulation?), intensive military build-ups driven by greedy arms manufacturers (supported by the Mass Media Murdoch Industrial complex markets) they are always going to happen. While the few control the many, and we live in pseudo democratic think tanks run by markets for outside profit giant pyramid scheme, all going to the top. What can be changed? You've reacted, now it's you or them and then you just hope you have enough followers to avenge you, and try to build your gang/ faction/ clan/ cult/ tribe/government/ community/ militia group/ religion/ friends and family better bigger stronger fitter happier than the opposition... you get the idea, maybe? I think i'm gonna have to stop this one before I take the big step, or keep it completely under the radar... and I mean like that's all i'm gonna say even to you kind secrecy level. They better hope that something mellows me/distracts my attention/or gets me more angry, before I think of really funny (but completely legal and even safe) ways to exact my revenge!

FYI: I don't actually have a militia group or a government of my own (well maybe ones that represent me in parliament)...

Well I said it anyway! People used to make those by hand you know! "Yeah sure grandpa!" Ok so I want the advantages of technology without the resulting negative byproducts. Doesn't everyone want their cake and everybody else's?

How to be ignored in popular discourse:

If the oppressed masses of the world were to unite or gain a class consciousness, present power structures would be meaningless as they are based almost solely on an unequal distribution of wealth and not, as we are sometimes informed, based on natural talents and abilities. If you really believe that vast wealth can be accumulated via 'hard work' or 'risk-taking' then shouldn't all inheritance be outlawed as it discourages people from doing both of those things. It only encourages people to vehemently defend so-called 'property rights' and strongly resist any attempts to redistribute wealth... (I'm not saying that your gonna get far by sitting on your arse, unless your dad was head of the CIA...)

By the way I am aware that almost all attempts at revolution are abused and exploited by those that eventually gain power, but this time it's different god damn it!!!

Are thoughts meant to be fun/torturous or just functional things to accomplish, means to an end? Because I'll tell you they get tricky to deal with at times, and you can see why people try to escape, well I guess we all do in minor ways, but the ultimate escape plan is really the most selfish, it may help you (or seem to) but really your just disembarking and leaving the other passengers with the fare. They will have to pick up all the excess baggage. So what if I abuse my metaphores, they never say exactly what I mean anyway. Isn't it better to be ambiguous and let others read between the lines? Notice I usually ask the questions instead of answering them. Someone promised easy answers.

(p.s as you might have guessed the only purpose of that title was to grab attention/turn away undesirables, not that I'M elitist, I just don't care for riff-Raff, pop charts, boy bands, reality TV (actually I've been sucked in by a few (even the trump)so i must realise on some level that I am just as shit as any other sucker on the orbiting globe) ludicris claims, the past, the present and everything/nothing kinda ying yang complicated type situations that aren't fulfilling.



Not everyone particularly likes change, to put it mildly. In fact some people are down right petrified of it, and therefore act confrontationally toward it. Of course it might be pleasing in some ways if nothing ever changed, offering us comfort and stability. That would make nostalgia a bit irrelevant, but anyway, the fact is change is constant and anything we do to halt change will only be temporary. So our basic choice is learn to go with the flow, or exhaust yourself by fighting against the current.
