Free Markets, Kill People

Historically famine is not caused by food shortages
it's caused by war, greed, politics, denial, markets, bureaucracy,
human indifference, apathy, instability, corruption, conspiracy,
irony, lack of co-operation, breakdown of societies, lies,
unnecessary interference in rural economies, etc...

history is full of liars, cheats, thieves and charlatans
our greatest strengths are also our greatest weaknesses
our greatest virtues can also be our worst vices
opportunities threats

MYSELF
Shouldn't (human) life always be more valuable than economic progress or rare commodities?

CHARACTER A
why are we here?

CHARACTER B
Because there's a terrible draft in the lounge...

CHARACTER A
No, I mean why are we here?

CHARACTER B
Well, I don't know if there really is one reason in particular... You just sort of have to make your own and it can be different for everybody.

(Borrowed from my memory of a 'Shameless' Ep.)
