Ray Hughes: It's good shit, right?
Lab Technician at Airport: I mean bad shit.
Ray Hughes: Bad shit like, "this shit is bad?"
Lab Technician at Airport: It's shit shit. This shit isn't worth shit. There's barely enough coke in here to attract the dogs. Anybody caught on the street with this would get killed.

Plausible Deniability

Sorry to both readers of this blog... I've not been on here lately unfortunately...

Got a bit sucked into twitter somehow instead (@yossarian25) and tried to get involved in the discussions (see occasionally funny hurled abuse and outrage) about #nzpol and other such topical thing-a-me-bobs and such...

I wanted to gain a following on the twitface.  But it seems that to gain traction and get noticed you not only need to be quick and sharp of wit, but also fairly prolific and focused on what twitter is doing... It's weird how you can basically tune into it and see all these flurries of debate and conflict that sometimes echo or spill over into mainstream discourse, but you have to watch very hard to keep up and as soon as you leave the conversation or stop paying attention: it's like you've been removed from the matrix and you just can't see all those voices and opinions flying around...

I have to admit I like twitter at times, especially say around the time of big events, breaking news, elections, etc... but it demands too much attention to watch it all the time. Maybe if my job was writing this blog and not just a hobby I use to occasionally vent or reminisce, I would be able to weave it into my everyday routine a bit more, but work has been crazy busy just of late (so it goes) and I have been going back to the gym again, whilst trying to beat my girlfriend (that sounds wrong, until you read the rest of the sentence) in the now antique real-time strategy command and conquer: Generals: Zero Hour (circa. 2003) (but she's getting too good!) and get through season two of house of cards and all the other TV I try to fit in (daily show, regular show, the job lot, news, et al) as well as like you know see my friends, so get off my fucking back already for fucks sake! JOKING! Joking, that was just being silly... but yeah so you now know my life story (or you can piece it together from the other 630 odd posts I have put up previously over the last 10 years)...

ohhh and I got some wireless bluetooth headphones and a bluetooth MP3 player, but I end up just using pandora on my phone most of the time. Oh and I won on bonus bonds too, that must be on the kiwiana bucket list for sure... Ohhh and trying to invent a few hashtags an get them to catch on and for some reason watching random old shit on youtube ffs...

That last sentence would have fitted in much better with the rest of the twit-palava above, such is life. So yeah I don't exactly manage my time well, I have fun though, and don't hurt anyone.

Random fact: bought a hacky sack the other day.

You're Favourite Colour Red...

Ok I don't usually like apologies, giving or receiving, but I am quite sorry.
Sorry that the images I'm about to post may have already been posted
by myself on an earlier date... possibly, maybe, probably...
I just hadn't seen them in a while and am a bit too lazy to go back
to make sure that they haven't already been, but who gives a flying fortress?

We'll call it greatest hits or some other excuse to recycle old shizz:

Tell me, who is to blame?

Pretty much all of us.

I get a bit angry about nothing sometimes, well not nothing
but just nothing I can control, like all the injustice in the world
(apologies for sounding extra emo on the line above)

I still can't decide whether there are elite conspiracies to fleece the poor
or if it's just an unfortunate bag-o-shight but no one really planned it.

I'd like to blame god or the people in charge of state and government
but I don't actually think anyone really wanted it to get as bad as it is...

I turn lots of things into games...

I enjoy life a lot more than I make it sound, cos without getting overly narcissistic I do think I am a good person, and I usually don't let myself get bored...

people probably think or assume I am a boring person, but if you can't entertain yourself aren't you the boring one?

Gidday! It's me again back with some peripheral nonsense or a list of stuff and things, ya know?

The Premise:

Don't watch television!

But if you do, watch these:

  • Housos
  • Brickleberry
  • Hello Ladies
  • House of Cards
  • This Week Tonight
  • Game of Thrones
  • The Daily Show
  • Parks & Rec
  • Blackadder
  • Rake

Or maybe I have lately and that's the point I'm trying to make?

Why don't my post titles ever have much relevance to the actual post?

Don't bother trying to come up with possible answers in the below comments...

Unnecessary Provocation(s)

Hi, how are you?

I'm fine, well I'm not really but overall I pretty much am... anyway I have been listening to lots of music as usual, but unlike recent usuals I have been getting back into hip hop and related type stuff, not sure where it all started from again, but was looking up lyrics on rapgenius and one song or album would sorta lead on to another... and I've also chucked in a few old ones that I just redownloaded cos I didn't seem to have them on my lap top and the old CDs that Tim mass-pirated are almost 15 years old, so not up much if I could even find their scratched-up spooled asses...

Recent listenings or downloads (I mean purchases...):

Albums:

Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid M.A.A.D City
Nas - Illmatic + Life Is Good + Hip Hop Is Dead
Tyler, The Creator - Wolf
Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP
Blackalicious - Nia + Blazing Arrow
RJD2 - Deadringer + Since We Last Spoke
De La Soul - 3 Feet High and Rising + AOI 1 + 2

Singles:

Got a Girl - Did We Live Too Fast
J5 - The Way We Do It
Nas - Ether + Last Real Nigga Alive
Big Sean (feat. et al) - Control*
A$AP Rocky (feat. et al) - F**kin' Problems*

*not my usual jam as quite commercial/mainstream... which I'll get sick of quick, but for a wee thrill...

How to Start an Argument...

My opinions on drugs and abortions are kind of the same...

they may not be for everybody, of course no body should be forced into them through peer pressure or otherwise, but if someone really, really wants them or believes they need them, why should they be stopped from having it because of the opinions of others, who have nothing to do with them

I may get firebombed in my pyjamas for saying this, but pro-lifer's only seem to give a shit about a foetus till it's born and then they don't seem to give a fuck about poverty or alive kids suffering.

It is a complex issue, but how far can you take it?
alive at fertilization...?
every sperm is sacred? Jizzy...
words are wind
but basically it's her decision, not mine or yours
but hey I'm sure some old book purportedly from a few thousand years ago, would be far more relevant to base your modern day opinions on...

Cut and Paste Brigade Rides Again!

[thought this was interesting enough to pillage and display here, as I think sometimes about what will be when I am gone. And I sometimes think of this blog as a bit of a record of what I thought and that it'll live on beyond me, as a portfolio of me online and stuff :]

Digital immortality in an online age

    March 4, 2014
Digital immortality in an online age
What happens to your online photos, videos and texts when you die? And will a digital archive of your life help or hinder historians and your descendants as they delve into life in the 21st century?
Digital immortality describes the online digital archive of writing, photos, videos and blogs that outlive the content’s creator/user.
It’s a topic that has fascinated Associate Professor Pete Seel, who is visiting Massey University’s Albany campus from his base at Colorado State University. He is currently in New Zealand researching a book on the topic, to be published in 2015.
Hosted by the School of English and Media studies, Dr Seel will be presenting a lecture on digital immortality to students and the public in the Sir Neil Waters Lecture Theatres at the Albany campus on March 11 at 1pm.
The relatively new development of digital technology and the proliferation of social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram means people are accumulating online archives which could become permanent historical records of their lives, says Dr Seel. If the user’s descendants agree to keep that content online after their death it could serve as an ongoing memorial and resource for historians, genealogists and the descendants themselves.
“Humans have sought immortality since the dawn of homo sapien consciousness, and it has been a driving force for civilization,” he says. “Today we can achieve a form of cultural immortality, dependent on power supply and digital storage, that is an aggregation of a lifetime of posted online text, photos, and now video. Could the day come when we will be able to upload our consciousness? If so, what are the implications for society if this occurs?”
Although embarrassing photos posted online may appear to live on forever, social media archives can be manipulated by users – something Dr Seel will also address in the lecture.
“If we teach our students that ‘the Internet never forgets’ as they post personal images and text online, should we also ethically teach them how to make the Internet ‘forget’?” he says.
Dr Seel was a photojournalist, and television producer-director for ten years in the US and now researches telecommunications, new media technologies, digital television, and documentary history and production in the Department of Journalism and Technical Communication at Colorado State University.
His book, Digital Universe, was published by Wiley-Blackwell in 2012.
The lecture starts at 1pm in the Sir Neil Waters Lecture Theatre 100.

How to P*ss Everyone Off At Once

(I can't actually control things (ok maybe some on a superficial level, but...)
I can control my reaction to things.

I find it really hard to stay in the now...

I keep flicking off to other thoughts, need to learn to be in the present more.

Better stuff is not in the past and future, it's right now.

Only a quiet mind can be in the now)

This next thought won't go anywhere/far
so not sure why I am even giving it oxygen
you'll pretty much hate it and or shout it down
or someone will pay you to do similar activities
but should people with inherited wealth be excluded from taking up public office above a certain level? As they have never really had to deal with reality, have they?
Now I can already see some flaws and exceptions to my own idea, but really all this dynasty, feathering our own nest, spoilt few, sorta shit makes people ignore poverty or just not understand that live is a struggle. But I have to admit the dudes around the bus/train station with their begging signs piss me off too. So I am a complete f*cken hypocrite, just like all of us, but at least I can admit that shit, ya know...

Who would win in a one-on-one weapon-less street fight in real life...
out of Buddha and Christ*  ???
