Viewer Discretion Is Advised

Preserved By Death!!

First in an undetermined series of recycled off cuts, not worthy to adorn the crest of this fine online journal of self-indulgent nonsensical mental indiscretions indecisively strewn from start to finish in a haphazard fashion, liable to change at random.

Villages shocked by horrific news!!!!
Past header pic magically migrates to this location below:

Btw... this was taken in Hanoi at the security post for Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum
No Cameras, short sleeves or smiling allowed, thank you very much.
As it upsets Uncle Ho's beauty sleep, which will last eternity at least...

Also just thought I'd add extra for experts:

This I believe

Learn to question...

We can deny our heritage and our history, but we cannot escape responsibility for the result.

No one can terrorise a whole nation, unless we are all his accomplices.

We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty.

A nation of sheep begets a government of wolves.

We cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home.

Time Passes With Less Hesitation

Old Age:

... and then one day I realised I was the old man
warning kids to get off the road
instead of being one of the kids on the road...

Who said freedom was free?

World Demands Oppression

progress is a fine thing, the trouble is it went on too long...

...clichés (that we need sometimes)

The grass is always greener...
it all comes out in the wash...
out of sight out of mind...
Cat got your tongue?
do the best you can...
get over it...
you do...

(lyrics I'm borrowing for non-argumentative purposes...)

...there is no perfection, that's an inane flawed theory..
...this is not scare scaremongering, this is really happening...
...I ain't got no enemies but, if you test me I will retaliate...
...the only love we have is love for ourselves,
we bury our secrets in the garden...
...soul on the mind, mind on the soul...
...miles apart, inches away...
-----------------------------------------
...I am the son and the heir of a shyness that was criminally vulgar...
...due to lack of interest tomorrow has been cancelled...

The Synthetic Age
In modern times we have managed to replicate many aspects of the past, except for the quality.

Material Fetishism
If the oppressed masses of the world were to unite or form a class consciousness, present power structures would be meaningless as they are based almost solely on an unequal distribution of wealth, and not as we are sometimes informed based on natural talents and abilities. If you really believe that vast wealth can be accumulated via 'hard work' or 'risk-taking' then shouldn't all inheritance be outlawed as it discourages people from both of those things. It only encourages people to jump vehemently to the defence of so-called 'property rights' and strongly resist any attempts to redistribute wealth...

notes from the edge...

Production line of the mind...
Mixing up storm, brewing up a cuppa....
Too busy, as always. Time/money paradox
Need more time,
but this must be sacrificed to obtain money.
Which is required to acquire possessions
which can be used to enjoy time.
Which you can't use
'cause you are too busy trying to get more money!
Endless cycle of labour
used to further others aims.
Means to an end.
Our forebears had it worse.
Who am I to complain?
A moaning whinger I assume...
The odds of winning the lottery aren't even worth a chance...
But we'll risk it as much as we can
for a opportunity to break out.
Is boredom better than being in pain
or would that at least provide some sort of stimulation
which is preferable
to the absence of any feeling or excitement.
Go on without me
I'll only drag you down
to my level
of wonder
at what is
and what isn't.

First they came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up, because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me.

Attributed to Rev. Martin Niemoller, 1945
the accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands
whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective,
may justly be pronounced the very definition of
tyranny

"The proper role of a healthily functioning economy is to destroy jobs and put labor to use elsewhere" -- Joseph Schumpeter

Everything Is Temporary

The struggle for transcendence...

Suffering is normal
Pain is normal

The sooner we can collectively realise these truths
the sooner we may think of ourselves less as victims
and stop attacking each other because we feel threatened
or attack because we fear that we will be attacked
or think that we have already been...

Do I really want to believe the truth?
or just a compromised version of the truth
that allows me to continue to do what I want to do?

Got no regrets... except I wish you we're here with me...

NB:If you haven't done so already...
Watch "Children Of Men" the 2006 movie starring Clive Owen.
It is definitely one of the best films I have ever seen!
