Drum Circle

"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."

(--Martin Luther King Jr.)

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

(--Martin Niemöller)

"The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny."

Mouth Sounds for Your Ears

Something not to think about, because it's really just sounds...
Just think of it as mouth practise and brain pause...

How fast can you say it without blinking?
Other random facts to convince you!

Red herring or wild goose chase?
Polished up nicely, logic chills.

Skills pay bills
Thrills spill

And so forth...
Etc.

(NB:) Not something you need to read yo:)( Sorry if you thought that was totally pointless... but I find it fun to sound out nonsensical sounds at times of exuberance or cataclysm, deeply from the bottom of the dodgy comments (not yours) that I get, that are very complementary (not free, but positive) in a vague way, that try to plug their own blog or product. Yes we can all see through your manipulating commercial lies! but I like billboards though and I have been putting up a few stickers lately (that may show later). That sort of thing really. You know the usual stuff that no one else really gives a stuff about (sorry kids for the swear). I guess I just want to contribute, in a prolific quest at achieving complete mediocrity on all levels.)

(I had a nice barbecue feed today in the sun and got burnt slightly, remember cancer kids, don't fry your skin into leather, unless you really want to. But that's just another summer dilemma wanting to distract you from the real issues in the tabloids, like celebrities and sideshow carnivals;)

Trend Spotting

Is it just me or do Rorschach test pictures sometimes look like a monochrome butterfly that was squashed by a stretched Hummer limousine driven by corporate greed on a highway to oblivion?

In the kingdom of fools the easy answers are fighting to control the rapidly disappearing middle-classes lost ideals of nostalgic imagination, we always knew how to sweep it all under the carpet. So the collective lessons are never learnt, so every generation has to overcome another tyranny.

Pressing all the buttons again and again, without remembering what the result was last time.

Nah, I'm just messing with ya! I don't really believe that we can save the world tomorrow. But I guess that doesn't mean that we can't try, in our own small ways to make things better for the future. It's the little things and all that.

Total Molecular Disintegration

I just really wanted to use that title, since I saw that recently. It was the name of a type of extremely (warning understatement) spicy (not joking, could not only finish one piece and was not coping well in the tongue and lip department, whoops haven't even told you what it is yet...) chicken snack, at a pub/restaurant in town (roughly) that we had won a bar tab in a quiz (competitive knowledge is awesome! sample question: Name the three band members from the band Nirvana), but that is another story that I'm not going to tell you. Well not here right now anyway.

...on an unrelated note, I heard a radio review today of the new Lou Reed/Metalica album. It didn't seem like my cup of tea. The bits I heard sounded like they might be for an acquired taste and apparently other reviews aren't that great. But oh well Lou Reed has been on his own trajectory for awhile now, so any true fans he has left might be keen on some masochistic art rock. I didn't need another reason to hate Metalica though, I was never really into their music (full disclosure: except for maybe one or two songs from the past if I were really drunk) and we may still have Napster if it wasn't for old Lars (well probably not but I still thought he was a right wank about the whole thing). Some kind of fucking ego monster alright, but not one that I want to subject my ear holes to...

But I have to also admit I am currently as writing, listening to the Trainspotting Motion Picture soundtrack (playlist to follow) (another example of a movie which I should probably read the book, but I don't think I will cos I have heaps of other shit I want to read, but I won't get around to because of the internet and other excuses), which includes the song Perfect Day by Lou reed, which I like.

Going Going Gone Go

Going...

Going on or going off
Going hard or going soft

Going up on going down
Going through or going round

Going short or going long
Going right or going wrong

Going yes or going no
Going friend or going foe

Going out or going in
Going fat or going thin

Going fast or going slow
Going con or going pro

Going young or going old
Going meek or going bold

Going big or going small
Going none or going all

Going from or going by
Going low or going high

Going fake or going true
Going me or going you

Going this or going that
Going tit or going tat

Going live or going dead
Going heart or going head

Going straight or going bend
Going start or going end

(so there!)

Now try to replace 'Going' with: 'Lining', 'Winding', 'Standing', 'Falling', 'Wheeling', 'Dealing'
and see how that sounds...

I received this posted as a comment today, on a previous post:

"
It's quite hard to find a good website. And I am very satisfied to have come here. The publications are doing great and full of good insights. I would be glad to keep on coming back here to check for a new update.

made me laugh enough to put it here
but not enough to accept it as a comment
as it is blatant spam possibly translated
