OCD v ICD

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder versus Impulse Control Disorder

OCD:
Anxious thoughts can influence our behaviour, which is helpful at times. For example, thinking 'I may have left the oven on' leads to you checking the oven and keeping things safe.

ICD:
Impulse control disorder (ICD) is a class of psychiatric disorders characterized by impulsivity – failure to resist a temptation, urge or impulse that may harm oneself or others. Many psychiatric disorders feature impulsivity, including substance-related disorders,attention deficit hyperactivity disorderantisocial personality disorderborderline personality disorderconduct disorder and mood disorders.
